Monetization system
High-RPM placements that feel native.
FreqTrail is designed so monetization doesn’t interrupt listening. Ads and sponsors live in the reading flow (routes, city pages, station pages), while the player stays clean.
Ad Slot
Configure NEXT_PUBLIC_ADSENSE_CLIENT + your slot id to enable.
Placement Map
Where revenue shows up
- City pages: 1 Sponsor card near the hero, 1 AdSense unit mid-page, 1 affiliate block at the bottom.
- Route pages: 1 AdSense unit after intro, optional sponsor cards per stop, 1 affiliate block at the end.
- Station pages: 1 AdSense unit below station details, sponsor + affiliate blocks below.
- Homepage: light ads only after discovery content (avoid banner blindness above the fold).
The player stays ad-free. This avoids policy risk and keeps the product premium.

Affiliate Strategy (Not just one retailer)
Affiliate blocks that convert
- Contextual: city + route mood drives offers (travel gear, experiences, culture products).
- Optional: affiliate blocks are a module — you can disable globally, by country, or by page type.
- Evergreen: build “trail guides” later (blog-style) to boost SEO + RPM.
Ready to scale
Next steps: verified station database (city-level accuracy), better geo discovery, editorial routes, user accounts, favorites, and a mobile app. The website is built as a clean foundation for that roadmap.
